This blog will be a journey of me (hopefully) beginning to like wine. I come from a family of Europeans who love to drink wine, so I do know a few things about wine and different types of wine however my own experience with wine is very limited. I like them to be sweet and taste as close to grape juice as possible.
I have tried a few red wines, mainly Merlot's, as that is my grandmas favorite wines. All of the wines my family has asked me to taste, I generally find disgusting. Thus far in life I have only really tried and liked white wines, cheap ones. My likes consist of a few varieties of Franzia and most types of Moscato (Barefoot, Sutter Home, etc). The cheaper the better has been my motto. Recently, I even was adventurous enough to try a Riesling. Surprisingly, I really liked it.
I'm hoping to gain a new appreciation for wine through this course that lets me move on from Moscato (finally) and maybe by the end I'll even be drinking red wine. Maybe next thanksgiving I won't be the only one not drinking wine!!!!!
